The beginning of a new year has a way of helping us reflect on the past year. The good, the bad, and the indifferent. For me, 2019 was a year of ups and downs, just like most folks. Our family added yet another grandchild (a total of 5 now)to our expanding brood. We also had time of tribulation and turmoil. Through it all, the one constant was Jesus. Whether we celebrating on the mountain top or crying as we picked up the broken pieces in the bottom of the valley, Jesus was there. Sadly, many times this past year I lost sight of Jesus and what He was trying to do in my life. Although I know trials never come without an opportunity to learn an important principle. Whether it is the love of Jesus, the wisdom of Jesus, or the sovereignty of Jesus.
So, with the new year, I want a fresh start. I want to hit the reset button and renew my walk with my Lord, Jesus. It starts with me recognizing that every moment is His. I must let Him control and guide my heart and mind. I want to be aware of His presence in my day to day life and activities. The truth is that He is already there but often I overlook that fact. I want to be sensitive to His voice as He speaks to me. I want to be teachable when events and situations come. I want to be close with Jesus in every aspect of my life. And it all starts with a fresh start. A fresh decision to do whatever it takes to remain in His presence. The only way a fresh start has any chance of lasting is with the supernatural power of Jesus. I can’t do this alone; I’ve tried that! I need Jesus to make change last. The comforting thing about that is that Jesus offers a fresh start to anyone willing to follow Him.
I hope you will make a fresh start today and follow Jesus. What will this year look like if I follow Jesus wherever He leads? What difference can Jesus make in your life? Follow Him and find out.
Until next time;
